Be My Valentine

Choosing the perfect Valentines gift for her doesn't have to be a labour of love! Our Head designer Sylvia Kerr, gives us her advice on shopping for jewellery this Valentines and her insider top tips for giving the perfect love token.

WHAT WOULD SHE LIKE?

Choosing a piece of jewellery for your loved one is easy when you've done your homework. Firstly you need to look at the existing jewellery collection.

Do they favour gold more than silver?

Does your partner adore diamonds or veer towards another stone?

Does she prefer necklaces to earrings?

You can still keep an essence of surprise with your Valentines gift by taking a look at her jewellery box and undertaking some subtle detective work in passing conversation.

Once you have an idea (earrings/bangle/necklace etc.) and which precious metal, you canstart to shop around. The beauty of buying into our brand is that we have numerous collections to suit all tastes and pockets.

Because each piece is thoughtfully designed to work with each other throughout our entire range, you can start with something smaller such as a brooch or pair of earrings and continue to add other pieces for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmases to come.

ONLY FOR YOU

We also offer a bespoke service, where we work  closely with our clients to create a unique piece like no other. For example, you may have bought into a particular collection but then want something extraordinary for a significant anniversary, yet wish to gift jewellery with the same essence that your partner can wear altogether. We can make this a reality - from incorporating anniversary relevant precious stones through to creating a truly individual piece with engraving.

VERSATILITY

Look for versatility in the jewellery you are buying. Could it be worn during the day but look equally great teamed with a dress for evening? Does it have a timeless, yet contemporary feel to its design? These are all important factors in buying fine jewellery. As a woman, creating jewellery for women, I know most of us want easy to wear beautiful accessories that 'finish' our outfits beautifully, which is why my designs do just that. solid silver horsehead chain neckpiece

I have also created several pieces that offer greater versatile for women who travel and do not wish to take somany pieces of jewellery: for example, the Blenheim Tassle Neck Chain comes with a beautiful tactile detachable tassel which can be removed and replaced with our stunning cultured pearl Blenheim Bauble. The neck chain is also the perfect length to wrap around your wrist to wear as a beautifully contemporary wrap bangle.
